FRRC is a grassroots membership organization run by returning citizens, in partnership with allies, who are dedicated to ending the disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions.

Grantee Profile

Believing that those closest to the pain are also closest to the solution, the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC) seeks to grow a base of galvanized returning citizens and their family members by actively engaging in peer-to-peer and public education around the restoration of voting and civil rights, criminal justice reform, and reentry issues. FRRC’s successful mobilization efforts through its Our Vote Our Voice program helped to pass Florida Amendment 4, also known as the Voting Rights Restoration for Felons Initiative, which made it possible for over 1.4 million Floridians to become registered voters in January 2019.

About Our Grants

In 2019, the Woodcock Foundation awarded the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition a $100,000 grant to support the FRRC Education Fund and help FRRC in its efforts to create a more comprehensive and humane reentry system that will enhance successful reentry, reduce recidivism, and increase public safety.
