Growing Kings

Growing Kings works to strengthen the systems of support that impact underserved male youth by providing consistent long-term support and delivering culturally relevant, structured programming.

Growing Kings is an organization dedicated to improving life outcomes for underserved male youth throughout the state of Alabama by providing consistent, long-term support and delivering culturally relevant, structured programming. Growing Kings operates with a mission to encourage and facilitate the critical thinking and positive attitudes of underserved male youth through systemic and targeted enrichment, research, and advocacy. Growing Kings provides innovative school-based mentoring and enrichment services to underserved males in urban public schools through its Journey of a King program series, which is a school-based mentoring and enrichment program for male students in the 4th through 12th grades. The program series provides students with the opportunity to participate in nine years of comprehensive programming and is designed to improve academic, behavioral, and societal outcomes for young men in urban public schools. Each program within the Journey of a King series operates with its own distinct curriculum that is relevant in content and delivery methodology.
