Grantee Profile
Young People For (YP4), launched in 2004 by the People for the American Way Foundation, is a strategic long-term leadership development program that identifies, engages and empowers the newest generation of progressive leaders to create lasting change in their communities. The year-long fellowship program for college students kicks off with a five-day National Summit in Washington, D.C. and provides organizational and financial support for executing meaningful social justice work.
About Our Grants
The Foundation’s final grant in 2008 of $100,000 supported the 2009 National Summit and its goals of networking fellows around critical issues, connecting them with leaders in the progressive movement, and equipping them with the powerful strategies needed to create sustainable social change, including concrete skills for implementing self-designed “Blueprint for Social Justice” action plans on their campuses and in their communities.
