Extra-Mural Education Project
EMEP is creating a national movement of Community Hub Schools for extended learning, recreation, and support services in South Africa.
Grantee Profile
EMEP’s goal is to help South African schools develop into hubs of lifelong learning, recreation, and support, for both their school-going and surrounding communities. This is achieved by offering extra-mural programs for children and community members by supporting schools’ continuous organizational development and stimulating community cohesion. EMEP’s approach helps people, schools, and communities deal with their underlying needs and challenges, as well as organize themselves effectively by using the school as a community resource.
About Our Grants
In 2016, the Woodcock Foundation provided EMEP $10,000 in general operating support for efforts to enhance parental involvement, development, and supports within working class school communities in South Africa.
