About Our Grants
The Foundation’s three-year grant of $225,000 in 2008 recognizes that with the advent to the White House of a champion of women’s reproductive rights, opportunities to make proactive inroads around reproductive health exist now as they haven’t in over a decade. Funds will largely underwrite NIRH’s Urban Initiative for Reproductive Health to advance an agenda promoting policies and programs that lead to more planned pregnancies and improved reproductive health for all women, particularly in urban areas. Specifically, the Initiative will further the goals of 1) increasing access to contraception, 2) empowering healthy teens, 3) reducing reproductive health disparities, and 4) ensuring healthy pregnancies.
